Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know what size I am?
We recommend you first take a look at our size guide, right here. The most accurate way to determine your size is to take measurements of your Bust, Hips, and Waist. You can do this with a soft measuring tape or a piece of string/ribbon and a ruler. If you have no way of measuring, we advise you to cross-compare our size chart and the sizes that you typically shop for. If you are still unsure, please feel welcome to email us at email@example.com
Does Bamboo fabric wrinkle? If so, how should I remove wrinkles?
Bamboo fabric does wrinkle when folded for long periods of time. We recommend that you hang your garments or steam them to relax any wrinkles. Do NOT iron Bamboo fabric. You may steam your garment with a clothing steamer, or hang your garment in a bathroom and let the steam from a warm shower naturally pull out any wrinkles.
How long will it take to receive my order once it has been placed online?
Processing orders takes approximately 2-5 business days. Delivery times will depend on the destination. We recommend waiting 4-7 business days for orders within Ontario and 8-10 business days for orders to arrive in North America. Orders to Australia and Europe are subject to approximately 2-4 weeks delivery times.
Are you taking wholesale orders?
Yes. For wholesale inquiries, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: WHOLESALE
What is your return policy?
Please see our Shipping + Returns page for info on our return policy.
How should I wash and dry my Bamboo or Tencel clothing?
We HIGHLY recommend that you wash cold (machine wash, gentle setting) and lay flat or hang to air dry. This will maintain the integrity of the bamboo fabric and ensure it lasts longer. Putting your Mettamade clothing in the dryer is NOT recommended.
Where is your clothing made?
METTAMADE Clothing is designed in our home studio in Hamilton, Ontario. Our clothing is cut and sewn in a women-run factory located in Toronto, Ontario (a 45 min drive from our home studio!)
What are your shipping fees?

We are not offering customizations or alterations at this time.
What does METTAMADE mean?
a. Metta is a word in the Pali language to describe goodwill, benevolence and loving-kindness. Co-founders Carol Davies and Morgan MacDonald learned of the term while studying Mindful Self-Compassion. They learned of Metta meditation, which is a Buddhist meditation practice that calls upon an individual to channel loving-kindness, and eternal benevolence towards all other living beings. In the context of Mindful Self-Compassion, one would also practice setting the intention of loving-kindness towards oneself. We decided on the name METTAMADE because our clothing is made with loving-kindness towards all bodies and the planet. We produce in small batch quantities to minimize waste. We design garments that are inclusive of all body types and sizes, with an emphasis on adapting to weight fluctuations and lifestyles (business casual and lounge and leisure).
